MELIS AZRA
Over the course of her nine years of piano teaching, Melis has taught a wide variety of students; from beginners to pupils at an advanced diploma level. She teaches a range of ages - from children of four, to adults. Additionally to her private teaching, she holds a permanent position at the Latymer Saturday Music School and more recently, the Bromley Youth Music Trust.
Melis regards each of her pupils as an individual, and tailors her methods to target each student differently. She aims to broaden all sides of her pupils' musicalities- from technique, music theory, aural training, to developing their own musical style. All of this is done with a positive, nurturing and encouraging approach to learning that nevertheless has all of the necessary rigour for professional development (for those who wish to go further with their musical studies).
For students wishing to enter graded examinations, Melis is officially registered with the ABRSM. All of her students have a 100% success rate from ABRSM examinations. Although Classically trained, Melis has a keen interest in other genres of music, and does teach Popular Music, Jazz and more for those pupils who are interested. She also is a keen chamber musician, therefore encourages her pupils to take part in chamber ensembles such as piano duos, trios and accompaniment.
